Create your own Signature Salon Smell - 100% natural recipe

Well Winter is well and truly here, which means I tend to sanitise a lot more than usual with so many bugs floating around along with coughs and sneezes!

Obviously no one likes dirty hands but I find that the more that I apply sanitiser the drier my hands become until they crack! Of course dry yucky hands aren't something that anyone wants either - especially when you are working in the Lash and Beauty Industry!

Here at Lashholic Professional we like to make sure that we are giving our hands just a little bit of extra love, especially because they are the tools of our trade. So in an attempt to solve my dry hand dilemma I went on the hunt for a sanitizer that didnt dry out my hands and I discovered an amazing alternative!

My clients always comment on how much they love the smell of our hands and are always shocked when they find out its our sanitiser! It doesnt smell like you are in the hospital, it doesnt dry out your hands and best of all its 100% natural and really easy to make!

Just below I have included the recipe we use so you are able to create your own signature salon smell.

Natural EASY PEASY Recipe for Anti-Bacterial Hand Sanitiser;

Base Ingredients

- 5 tablespoons of Aloe vera Gel

- 4 tablespoons of water

- ¼ teaspoon of vitamin E oil

Additionally we add 6 drops of the Doterra On Guard which is a blend of WildOrange Peel, Clove Bud, Cinnamon Leaf, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Leaf, and Rosemary Leaf/Flower to create our hand sanitiser however you can choose a mix of different essential oils with antibacterial properties (only 6 drops max though) to create your own signature scent. Here is a list of some of the different oils you might want to consider using and the benefits of them;

Lavender is the most versatile of all essential oils. Its well known for its relaxing effects on the body and is highly regarded for the skin. It is also used to cleanse cuts, bruises and sooth skin irritations.

Sandlewood can help increase focus and mental clarity and balance. It mixes well with other oils and has traditionally been used for its healing properties.

Rosemary has become increasingly important and popular over the years as more of its benefits are known, including its ability to stimulate hair growth, boost mental activity, relieve respiratory problems, and reduce pain.

Sage has numerous health benefits which can be attributed to its properties as an antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and a stimulating substance.

Peppermint is one of our personal faves and is frequently used in aromatherapy for acne, dermatitis, asthma, bronchitis, digestive problems, colds, headaches and fatigue.

Citrus oil such as Lemon, wild orange or grapefruit have lasting health and cleaning benefits as well as smelling amazing and assisting to boost your immune system.

Make sure you experiment with different oil combinations to get the one you love the most!

We love feedback and would love to find out what you put in your signature mix?
