GUIDE to lashing without breaking your Back

LASH TECHNICIAN EXERCISE PROGRAM

(LASHHOLIC PROFESSIONAL & LAUREN DARBEN, AES AEP ESSAM ID:12621 EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST)

Here at Lashholic Professional we are big believers in looking after yourself first and foremost! As every Lash Technician no doubt knows, lashing all day can be an absolute killer for your muscles and your back, which can result in long term serious health conditions.

We looked high and wide for advice on how to counteract this and make sure we protect ourselves but we found it really REALLY difficult to find specific PROFESSIONAL advice designed especially for Lash Technicians.

So what did we do???

Easy - We got a Professional Exercise Program designed by a qualified Exercise Physiologist which we are going to share with you today! We will be doing the guide in 2 parts so make sure you keep an eye out for part 2!

PART 1 - MICRO EXERCISES TO DO DURING AND BETWEEN LASHING SESSIONS

Take regular micro pauses (a minimum of every 15 minutes during each service) ** refer to stretches ideal for micro pauses in the table below

Make sure you stretch between each client (try to take 10 minutes rest between clients or vary your service offerings if possible so you are exerting the same muscle groups each time) ** Refer to stretches ideal for between clients in the table below

Lauren also has the following tips and tricks to make your lashing life easier;

  • Ensure that equipment that you frequently use is positioned within an elbow's length away;
  • Ensure that occasionally used items are positions within an arm's length away;
  • Avoid favouring/leaning to one side over the other;
  • Use the client's forehead to rest your hands and brace your wrists (rather than hovering your hands above the client whilst working)

Alright beauties, we hope you LOVE this and it helps with your day to day lashing! Keep an eye out for PART 2 where we look at exercises to do at home and an ergonomic workstation set up! Special shout out to the lovely Lauren Darben for such an amazing program!

xoxo,
